Equality & Inclusion
Every young person is treated with dignity, fairness and respect
Every young person we support is treated with dignity, fairness and respect, regardless of their background, identity or circumstances. Our practice reflects the Equality Act 2010 and Ofsted's Quality Standards, and we are committed to an environment free from discrimination, harassment or victimisation — for young people and staff alike.
Young people are actively involved in shaping the decisions that affect them. Their views, wishes and feelings matter, and we listen. Where a young person needs reasonable adjustments to access support fairly, we work with them, their social worker and other professionals to put these in place.
We use culturally relevant resources, plain language and interpreters where needed, and make sure young people see role models who reflect the diversity of their own backgrounds and identities.
Every young person has regular one-to-one time, surveys and forums to share their views on how the service runs. A designated Diversity Champion oversees how well we are living up to this commitment in practice, ensuring our approach remains inclusive, responsive and reflective of the young people we support.
